Alexander Claus

Alexander Claus has been a solicitor since 2004 and has extensive experience in the fields of company law, insolvency law and employment law. His work focuses on providing sound legal and pragmatic advice.

Alexander has extensive experience in advising and representing entrepreneurs in litigation. As a fellow entrepreneur, he understands the inner workings of businesses and the challenges entrepreneurs may face. He not only advises on legal pitfalls but also has an eye for the commercial opportunities that may arise. In addition, he supports and advises various charitable foundations.

Alexander has a particular interest in insolvency law. He is regularly appointed by the court as a liquidator in insolvency proceedings and as an administrator in suspensions of payments. In this capacity, he has guided many businesses in financial difficulties through restructuring and relaunches. As a liquidator, Alexander has extensive experience in handling healthcare-related insolvencies.

He is a member of the firm’s German Desk. He speaks fluent German and has advised many German-speaking clients on Dutch law and assisted them in various proceedings in the Netherlands. In addition, he has extensive experience in advising Dutch clients on international insolvency-related proceedings.

In addition to insolvency law, he is also active in the field of employment law. He has extensive experience in assisting both employers and employees in labour disputes. He also advises various Works Councils in the context of consultation and consent procedures (WOR).

He has successfully completed the postgraduate programme in Insolvency Law at the Grotius Academy and the postgraduate programme in Financial Economics for Insolvency Practitioners at Erasmus University. He has also completed the Postgraduate Course in Employment Law (PALA) at Erasmus University.
